The Ark Primary School (TAPS) focuses on providing quality education to the underserved population of rural India, preparing them to step into the future with confidence. KIDS AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

The Kids and Community Development project is our grassroots project that nurtures community awareness and academic ability. The central focus of the project is to enable the community to grow and develop from within. The project has different elements: After-school tuition programs, The Children’s Club, community awareness programs, and academic and medical sponsorships. Through these, we address the most pressing needs of an entire community.

SKILL DEVELOPMENT CENTRE

The Skill Development Centre is our approach to youth development through talent building, life-skill training, career guidance, and welfare activities. Talent building helps the youth explore their creative outlets and their passions. This lays the foundation for our career guidance program. Communities are also in dire need for youth role models. This pushes us to address topics among the youth that teach them responsibility towards themselves and the environment.

Over the past 20 years, we have had to mobilize relief on various occasions. Most recently we provided essential goods to the daily-wage and migrant communities which were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2015, Chennai experienced the worst flood in 100 years, where we provided the victims with medical, sanitary, and hygiene kits. In 2004, when the Tsunami hit our shores, our focus was to rebuild the affected fishing villages in Southern Tamil Nadu. We also assisted with community rehabilitation after several slum fires.
